Positive Low Energy Futures

I am working with Lancaster University and Involve to evaluate their Positive Low Energy Futures Panel. Members of the panel, recruited from Manchester and the surrounding area, are meeting eight times (3-4 sessions per wave) over a period of two years to help inform the development of the Positive Low Energy Futures model.

In each ‘Block’ of deliberation the panel members have discussed a different topic relating to low carbon futures, from food and housing to transport and purchases. Most recently they explored the trade-offs for reaching net zero through demand reduction, electrification and carbon capture.

The evaluation is running alongside fieldwork, providing independent feedback after each wave. There will be a full report when the work concludes in March 2026.
